McKallister Vance Hinckley was born June 27, 2008 at 5:53 a.m. weighing in at 7 pounds and 15 ounces. Our tall little man was 22 inches long and had his Daddy's crooked ear.
There is no denying that I had the most PERFECT son- too perfect to stay on this earth. Here is his story...
Many of my Family members were able to come with us and be in the room when we saw McKallister for the first time and when we found out we were having a BABY BOY!! We were so excited and that day meant the world to me because we were able to share it with people I care about so much. That day means even more now...Mac played peek-a-boo with us, flashed us his boy parts and then hid them the rest of the time, and showed my family the personality that I got to feel every day. I am so glad that we have that memory of Mac. We all got to see him moving- a memory that will never be forgotten. With all of my other ultrasounds McKallister was a crazy little man, always moving and turning, and so active. He had a very strong personality that could be seen in every movement and felt in every touch.
Easter time came and I was barely starting to show. My Sister, Taylor, got this great idea to celebrate Easter by designing an egg on my oval shaped stomach. She did a great job, even though it tickled like crazy, and we had so much fun taking the after pictures. I look back on this now and am so grateful that she got this idea- Mac got to celebrate an Easter alive with me.
You can't see this picture very well, but anyone that saw me will understand. :) I started retaining water REALLY bad and so looked...huge- to say the least. Ha ha. There was no definition between my thighs and ankles- yes they were that big. I normally wear a size 5 ring and bought a fake one since my fingers were so swollen, it was a size 9 and a half. I could barely get flip-flops on and definitely nothing else. I was huge, not sleeping, miserable, and still loved every minute of being pregnant because every day Mac would move, hiccup, kick, and push to remind me what a special little guy I had in there.
Our First Family Pics!! :) I have a neighbor that is starting up a photography business and so asked us to be a part of her portpholio. I have to admit that she probably didn't get any good shots from us. I remember looking at the pictures afterwards and being so embarrassed (and I am not the only one that said that- every honest person that cares about my life told me to get rid of these pictures asap) This one is the only one that turned out and it's because I'm looking down so you can't see the huge bags under my eyes, I'm turned just right so the extra weight gain isn't as visible and it's in black and white so it helps out with all the other pregnant flaws. :) I really do still love these pictures because it's of the three of us- and every one of those pics are greatly cherished!!
Josh and Cali met in June of 2006 shortly after Cali had graduated high school and Josh had returned from serving a mission in the Ukraine. They were engaged a shocking one month later on July 25th and then married on February 9th, 2007 in the Salt Lake Temple. Josh left 5 days later on a baseball trip and that's how their lives have been ever since...Baseball and Love. Later that year Josh hit his biggest home run ever when Cali discovered she was expecting a little baby boy! Their world has been changed forever since McKallister Vance Hinckley came into their lives on June 27th, 2008 at 7 pounds 15 ounces and 22 inches long as a stillborn. A year and a half later Mac sent his little sister down to this crazy world. On December 1st, 2009 at 8 pounds 19 1/2 inches long, Oakland Mae Hinckley was born. Josh and Cali could not be happier with their amazing family of four!
